Different ways for therapy
Therapy can be done in various ways making it easier for you to get help in a way that suits your comfort, time, and life.

In-person Therapy: Outdoors

What happens next?
Starting therapy can feel daunting, so I like to keep things simple and clear. Here’s what working together usually looks like:
1. Getting in touch
You can reach me by email, phone, text, or through the contact form on this website. I’ll do my best to reply within 48 hours (weekdays) to arrange a time for a free 30 minute initial chat.
2. First conversation
This first meeting usually takes place online or by phone – whichever feels easiest for you. It’s a chance for you to share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, ask me any questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There’s no obligation to continue.
3. Beginning therapy
If you’d like to go ahead, we’ll agree on a time and place that works for you – in Edinburgh, or online. If meeting in person, please arrive as close as possible to our appointment time, as there’s no waiting-room space.
4. Your sessions
Each session is your time. You choose what feels most important to bring, and we’ll go at your pace – exploring what matters to you in a supportive, non-judgmental way.
5. Frequency and flexibility
Most clients come weekly or fortnightly, but we can adapt as your needs change. Some people come for a short period, others for longer – there’s no set rule.
6. Ongoing review
We’ll check in together from time to time, making sure the work feels useful and adjusting as needed.
Therapy is not about following a strict formula. It’s about creating the conditions where you can feel safe, supported, and open to change.
