Where we can meet

East Lothian

Margot Williamson Counselling and Psychotherapy

Many people imagine that counselling has to take place in the middle of a town or city. In fact, some find that travelling a little further allows them to leave behind the demands of everyday life and arrive somewhere quieter, calmer and more restorative.

My purpose-built counselling studio is set just off the A1 within the beautiful East Lothian countryside, around 20 minutes from Haddington, 30 minutes from North Berwick or Berwick-upon-Tweed, and under an hour from much of Edinburgh.

For many people, the journey is easier than they expect. At busy times, travelling across Edinburgh itself can take close to an hour, making a peaceful drive into the countryside an appealing alternative.

The studio has been designed to offer a comfortable, welcoming and private space where you can take time for yourself.

A space that adapts to you

The studio can offers a variety of different feelings, depending on what helps you feel most comfortable.

Some clients prefer to open the large double doors onto the garden, allowing fresh air, birdsong and views of nature to become part of the therapeutic space. This way we can appreciate a feeling of openness and connection with the natural world.

At other times, we can close the doors, lower the blinds and create a quiet, enclosed room that feels calm, protected and held. Together we can create the environment that feels right for you.

EH1 Therapies

I work from the bright and welcoming consulting rooms at EH1 Therapies on Randolph Place, a peaceful setting just a few minutes' walk from Edinburgh's West End.

The practice is conveniently located within easy walking distance of Charlotte Square, George Street and Princes Street, with Stockbridge and the Old Town also nearby. It is well served by bus, tram and rail links, making it easy to reach from across the city and beyond.

If you are travelling by car, there is on-street parking in the surrounding area, with the Castle Terrace NCP car park also close by. Randolph Place is also situated on Edinburgh's West to East National Cycle Network route.

Although close to Edinburgh's busy financial and business district, the consulting rooms offer a quiet, calm environment where you can step away from the pace of everyday life and focus on yourself.
